Hello friends,
Glad to be back and sharing a new Tres Jolie design team project with you today! I created these sweet cards with the GORGEOUS September Cards, Tags & More kit. This kit is a stunner! It features 49th& Market’s Vintage Artistry Coral collection and an array of fun embellishments. You can see everything that is included here on the Tres Jolie website.
I wanted to make a couple of quick and simple cards, using only elements found in the kit. I pretty much accomplished that but did use a wee bit of white embroidery floss from my stash as well.
Here are a few pics of my process:
First I cut a card base and layered patterned paper from the collection. True confession…I never measure; I eyeball everything and use a pencil to mark where I want to cut. It comes out perfect every time!
I chose a pattern that had a little bit of black in it to match the card base and then decided the background needed a little texture. Instead of reaching for my gesso and crackle paste (that was very, very difficult! LOL), I added a simple strand of embroidery floss.
Then I started layering elements from the included elements sheet, and one of the fun lace leaves from the kit.
I then glued the top elements down while holding them in place – I don’t take everything off and re-layer before I glue… I always seem to forget how I originally laid the composition. so I glue everything down while they are in place. If you can’t hold everything down while you glue then take a photo of the composition, then lift everything off and use the photo as a reference when you reglue.
After gluing down the base elements I added some of the pretty 49 & Market wildflowers from the kit…
… and a butterfly from the elements sheet….and finally topped everything off with the beautiful seam binding from My Scrap Cabin Shop (so luscious!)
The second card was pretty much the same, simple process: Cut card base…layer paper, layer elements, add flowers, finish with seam binding.
These cards are super quick and simple, all you have to do is add a sentiment and they’re ready to send off or give away.
I hope you enjoyed my project today. Please be sure to visit Tres Jolie site here
Hugs,
Cris
