Hello friends!
Happy Tuesday and welcome back to my blog. Today I’d like to share a very simple card trio using the Tres Jolie August Cards, Tags & More kit. This is such a fun, versatile kit and can be easily mixed with elements from the companion Scrapbooking and Mixed Media kit.
The first card I’d like to share is based on the August sketch for the challenge at the Tres Jolie Cafe. I thought it would be fun to show how easily you can create a card from a layout sketch.
Here’s the sketch…it’s a beauty!
And here’s my card…
This card was so simple to make. I cut an inch off one of the white album pages (basically removing the binding holes) that are included in the kit and used it as my card base. I then applied crackle paste (my favorite medium!) randomly to the entire base and began layering my elements. I just LOVE the colors in this kit. The Craft O’ Clock papers are so stunning and Kim chose the perfect coordinating embellishments!
For my second card, I tore a strip of the blue script patterned paper, layered tags and Prima leaves from the scrapbooking kit, floral cutouts, and flowers. For a cohesive look on all three cards, I added seam binding as a final element.
I also used a torn strip of patterned paper as the base for my last card. I literally took a hodgepodge of elements that were on my desk and adhered them in layers to create my composition. For a final touch, I mixed a bit of the Bundled Sage distress oxide spray with water and brushed it lightly into a few nooks and crannies.
That’s a wrap! I hope you enjoyed these quick, simple cards. Notice they have no sentiments – I decided to leave them blank for now. I will add personalization when I’ve decided who I am sending them to.
Enjoy the rest of your week friends!
Hugs,
Cris
